‘Connection’ sums up my art practice. Connection to my past is achieved by using my parent’s drawings as one source of inspiration (they made Chinese lacquer furniture). Further source of inspiration are nature, current affairs and books which connect me to the present. Past and present are united by the drawings I print in my etchings which are adorned with gilding. Printing for me is best described by artist Stephen Chambers who says: ‘printing is a mix of Chance, Recklessness and the unexpected’.
